After a very cozy night in our little private apartment and a breakfast in our own little kitchen in Melide, we set off this morning for our 14.1m/22.5km hike. Gorgeous weather and rolling hills and mostly green paths wound through the Galician countryside.

Great walking weather, sunny but not hot!

We crossed over a really neat rock bridge that I have a great similar photo of my uncles, and cousin, and brother, and dad and I from 3 years ago.

Action shot

It seems like the km are going by faster and faster every day- it seemed like it took forever to get from the beginning to the halfway point, but from the halfway point to now seems like no time at all!

We walked through the town of Arzua today and a restaurant was preparing an extremely large paella- I wish I had something in the picture for size comparison! The pan was about 3 feet across!

Wishing for smell-a-vision

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be warmer and we are powering through and walking 13m/20km to a town just outside Santiago so that our last day will be very short and we can have time to enjoy the city and our triumph!

Another beautiful old bridge!

In honor of your journey, and because we are jealous and are experiencing FOMO, Jim and I made seafood paella last night for dinner. It was slightly smaller….but large enough that it was also my lunch today and there’s still more to go!! Your walk today looked lovely and I can’t believe you’re so close to the end of your journey! So happy for you!
